Part of a tracing pattern exectued in outline in brown ink of flower sprays with an outline border. A “Lily” pattern, ascribed to William Morris, appears in the Morris and Co. Embroidery Day Book (1892-96), of this name; 1896 is the earliest order number recorded for this particular pattern.
The design was bequeathed by May Morris to the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1938. Transferred to the William Morris Gallery in 1954.
