An opportunity to bid for a delicately crafted artwork from our recent exhibition Young Poland: An Arts & Crafts Movement (1890 – 1918). Exquisitely made, these paper and eggshell Christmas decorations by Anna Myczkowska-Szczerska were created using original designs and templates from the Kraków Workshops – an Arts and Crafts Design Cooperative, 1913–1926.
These decorations - displayed during the exhibition - are approximately twice the size of the decorations previously sold at the William Morris Gallery shop and we have included the names of each item below.
We are asking for a minimum bid of £15 for each piece - based on initial interest we expect some of the more popular designs to reach in the region of £30-50. As some designs may be more popular than others, we recommend you make up to 5 choices (stating your 1st, 2nd… choice) as this should give you a higher chance of being successful in your bid. If you would like to purchase more than one piece, please state the number of different designs you would like to purchase.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org before midnight on Sunday 13 February. The results of the auction will be communicated to all participants by Wednesday 16 February and if successful you will be asked to make payment by 20 February. Postage and packaging for any items will be charged in addition to the bid price (£5 UK, £10 Europe & International).
All funds raised will be donated to the Friends of William Morris Gallery, who support the Gallery’s collections, exhibitions and education programme.
