An identical chair but with original rush seating is illustrated in the Morris & Company catalogue “Specimens of Upholstered Furniture” 1910/11, p. 62 no. 188, priced at 22/6 (=£1.12) each, which would have had an arm-chair to match, priced at 37/6(=£1.88). This chair is less dependent upon traditional ‘rustic’ models such asMorris & Co’s Sussex chair; and has features more in common with furniture designed by D.F.A. Voysey or M.H. Baillie Scott.
