WMG Lates, our bimonthly after-hours events, are a chance to experience the Gallery in a relaxed adult atmosphere. Visit the special exhibitions and sample some of the best art, music, poetry and performance in London.
Brighten up the long winter nights with a magical evening of immersive illumination co-curated with Vine Collective. The legendary Gods Own Junkyard will fill the Gallery with dazzling neon pieces, specially chosen to reflect the poetry and designs of William Morris. Faber poets Martha Sprackland and Will Burns will read their own work plus their personal Morris favourites. Get ready to say goodbye to winter with uplifting tunes from a Music Takes Me Up DJ set, plus hands-on lantern workshops that will shine new light on William Morris's stained glass.
The line up
Will was born in London and raised in Buckinghamshire. He didn’t finish his English degree, choosing instead to start an ill-fated band with his brother. He has worked in factories, cleaning windows, painting houses and the best record shop on earth. He likes sports and ornithology and is proud to be Poet-In-Residence at Caught By The River. He was named as one of the four Faber & Faber New Poets for 2014 with his pamphlet in that series published in October 2014.
Martha Sprackland lives in London. Her poems have been published in Poetry Review, LRB, Poetry London, Magma, New Humanist and in the Salt Book of Younger Poets, Lung Jazz: Young British Poets for Oxfam and Best British Poetry 2014. She received an Eric Gregory Award in 2014. She was co-founder and poetry editor of Cake magazine for five years, and is now Assistant Poetry Editor for Faber.
