More News From Nowhere, Walthamstow's regular night of new and interesting music, curates an evening of experimental sounds and performances inspired by the life and work of William Morris.
Leafcutter John is a prolific sound artist, songwriter, musician and educator whose work combines elements of traditional folk song with improvisation, found sounds and field recordings, and electric instruments. He embodies William Morris's assertion that "A pattern-designer should know all about the craft for which he has to draw".
Samantha Grace Edwards is a multi-instrumentalist and improviser who takes the aesthetic of drone / ambient music and infuses it with a warmth and harmony that sets her apart from many others working in the genre.
Free, no need to book. Bar open all evening.
