Join photographer Red Saunders as we turn on the lights for a new installation in front of the Gallery. His epic photographs reimagine decisive but overlooked events in Britain’s struggle for democracy and social justice. Each scene is carefully planned and lit, using costumed models in the style of tableaux vivants. Two photographs from the series are on display: John Ball the Hedgerow Priest, the Peasant's Revolt, 1380 and William Cuffay and the London Chartists, 1842. Hear the stories behind the photographs in this free, after hours opening, with a special screening revealing the making of the work.
