These highly creative sessions explore Deacon’s design processes, his use of sketchbooks, mood boards and playful quotations from other artists including Morris. Led by fashion design lecturer Fenella Magnus, students will sketch from the galleries to gain ideas to construct a ‘Giles Deacon’ inspired collar. The workshop can be used as a starting point to develop a term’s project on garments or accessories inspired by the Gallery visit. Participating groups can have the opportunity to showcase their final work and designs at an exclusive evening catwalk event at the William Morris Gallery in March 2014. Students can photograph their outfits and designs for their portfolios on the William Morris Gallery staircase and invite friends.
