On Tuesday 9 August we’re celebrating Althea McNish: Colour is Mine by creating our own paper fashion to wear, led by award winning artist Antonietta Torsiello. Get inspired by the plants and colours of Trinidad that were so influential in the work of Althea McNish, who designed and made her own paper fashion. Then join popular storyteller Valentine Hanson as he takes you on a journey through the life of this extraordinary designer.
Our craft activity is aimed at 6+ but all welcome. There will be toys for under 5s in our Honeysuckle room for families to engage with between sessions or if younger children need to get away (an adult must accompany).
All craft activity sessions must be booked in advance. Please ensure that you book a ticket for each member of your group (adult tickets for 16+, child’s tickets for aged 15 and under). Some drop-in places will be available for these sessions.
- Craft activity times: 12.45pm, 1.40pm, 2.35pm, 3.30pm. Each activity lasts for 45 mins.
While you’re at the Gallery, we also have a family trail to enjoy. Start by exploring the Gallery and special exhibition with Indigo the Bird. Then follow the trail on an adventure around our garden with Fafnir the Dragon. When you’ve completed it, claim your prize!
