Activity and Events Volunteers

 The aim of this role is to support the William Morris Gallery and Vestry House Museum in delivering the Family programme as well as other activities and events for diverse audiences.

 

Visitor Volunteers

The aim of this public facing voluntary role is to support the Front of House Team, welcome and engage with general visitors to the William Morris Gallery and to supervise temporary exhibitions and public galleries. This role would suit anyone who is eager to share their enthusiasm for the Gallery and its collections and who is happy wokring with people, or someone who wants to gain experience of good customer service.

 

William Morris Gallery Family Programme Volunteer

The aim of this role is to support the Outreach Officer to develop and coordinate the William Morris Gallery Family Programme. This role would suit someone eager to assist on the delivery of events for diverse family audiences at the gallery. As part of the team you will gain an understanding of informal learning and how to engage different audiences through fun, interactive and informative activities and events.

 

Vestry House Museum Family Programme Volunteer

The aim of this role is to support the Outreach Officer to develop and coordinate the Vestry House Museum Family Programme. This role would suit someone eager to assist on the delivery of events for diverse family audiences at the museum. As part of the team you will gain an understanding of informal learning and how to engage different audiences through fun, interactive and informative activities and events.

 

Learning Programme Volunteer

The aim of the role is to support the Learning and Outreach Managerby helping to plan and deliver and support artist led sessions at the William Morris Gallery. This role would be suitable for someone who would like to share their passion for local history with school groups and who has experience of working with schools or young people.

 

Retail and Commercial Development Volunteer

The aim of this role is to support the Retail and Commercial Development Assistant. Retail and Commercial Development looks specifically at raising revenue for the museum and gallery to fund its exhibitions and free family programmes. We are recruiting a volunteer to help support the research and administration the project needs to make it a success. This role would suit someone interested in retail and e-commerce, and fundraising and sustainability for the arts or heritage.

 

Collections Documentation Volunteer

The aim of this voluntary role is to transfer paper documentation about our collection to an online collections management database so that we can make more of our collection available for researchers using online searching.

 

William Morris Gallery Young Producers

The William Morris Gallery Young Producers are a group of 16 to 25 year old’s who collaborate with the William Morris Gallery to produce, curate, organise and host events for young people at the Gallery and within the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The group meets twice a month throughout the year to discuss and plan for future projects.

The Young Producers get the opportunity work with artists and creative professionals and visit exhibitions across London. The Young Producers are currently working in collaboration with Waltham Forest London Borough of Culture 2019, on Creative Pathways. Creative Pathways is a series of networking events for young people interested in pursuing a career within the Arts.

If you meet the basic requirements for the role you will have an informal conversation with a member of staff about your application before we allocate the teams. Deadline of application is 26th January 2020
Induction days will take place Sunday 2nd February and Saturday 15th February at the William Morris Gallery, please ensure you are able to attend one of these dates.
